Description

The Moxa NPort S9650I-8-2HV-SSC-T is an 8-port RS-232/422/485 rugged serial device server with a built-in managed Ethernet switch, designed for electrical substations and other harsh industrial sites. It provides 8 DB9 male serial ports, 2 x 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports and 2 x 100BaseFX single-mode SC fibre ports, and accepts 88-300 VDC or 85-264 VAC power (2HV) across a -40 to 85°C operating range.

Built to IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613, the unit supports hardware-based IEEE 1588v2 PTP and IRIG-B time synchronisation, Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy, and DNP3 and Modbus protocol handling. Dual power inputs, a metal housing and 19-inch rack mounting suit permanent substation and utility cabinet installations, while Real COM/TTY drivers allow legacy serial equipment to be networked from Windows and Linux hosts.
