Which industrial router for your application?

Start with what the router has to do. These are the most common jobs and what to look for in each.

CCTV and video upload. Cameras send a lot of data, so choose a 5G router such as the Teltonika RUTX50, or a high category 4G router. Check the upload speed your carrier gives at the site, not just download.

Digital signage, ATMs and POS. These need a steady, low data link. A compact 4G router such as the Teltonika RUT241 suits single screens and terminals. For payments, choose dual SIM so a carrier outage does not stop sales.

Vehicles and mobile assets. Look for wide DC input, vibration ratings and GPS for tracking. Dual SIM models such as the Teltonika RUT956 suit buses, trucks and service vehicles.

SCADA, telemetry and utilities. Remote pumps, meters and substations need serial ports, digital I/O and Modbus support. Teltonika RUT956, Moxa OnCell and Robustel routers cover these, and Moxa EDR secure routers protect OT networks.
