Description

The Moxa NPort S8455I-SS-SC-T is an industrial 4-port RS-232/422/485 serial device server with a built-in managed Ethernet switch. It pairs 3 x 10/100M RJ45 ports with 2 x 100BaseFX single-mode SC fibre ports, 2 kV isolation on the serial signals and a -40 to 75 C operating range, making it well suited to harsh industrial networks that need serial devices connected over fibre.

The four DB9 male serial ports support RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485, with 15 kV ESD protection on all serial signals and an adjustable pull high/low resistor for RS-485. Ethernet redundancy is provided by Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain with recovery under 20 ms, or RSTP/STP. The metal housing mounts on a DIN-rail or wall and runs from a 12 to 48 VDC input.
