Description

The Moxa NPort IA-5150 is an industrial 1-port serial device server that connects RS-232/422/485 serial devices to an Ethernet network. It provides two cascading 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 Ethernet ports for simple daisy-chain wiring, and this variant has no serial isolation with an operating range of 0 to 55°C. Redundant 12 to 48 VDC power inputs and an IP30-rated housing with DIN-rail mounting make it well suited to control cabinets, factory automation and other industrial deployments.

The NPort IA-5150 supports TCP server, TCP client and UDP socket modes, and Real COM and Real TTY drivers for Windows and Linux let legacy serial applications run over the network. Patented ADDC (Automatic Data Direction Control) handles 2-wire and 4-wire RS-485 without extra configuration, and relay output and email alerts help operators respond quickly to faults. ATEX and Class I Division 2 hazardous location certification extends its use to regulated environments.
