Description

The Moxa NPort 6250-S-SC is a 2-port RS-232/422/485 secure serial device server with a single-mode 100BaseFX (SC) Ethernet uplink, rated for typical runs of up to 40 km. It carries serial data over Ethernet using TLS and SSH encryption, making it well suited to connecting serial equipment across long fibre links in industrial and infrastructure networks. The 0 to 55 C operating range and metal housing suit controlled cabinet and desktop deployments, and a region-suitable power adapter is included.

Both DB9 serial ports are software selectable between RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485, with baudrates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps and support for non-standard rates. Secure operation modes include Secure Real COM, Secure TCP Server, Secure TCP Client, Secure Pair Connection, SSH and Reverse SSH, alongside standard modes such as Real COM, TCP Server, UDP, RFC2217 and Terminal. Security features are based on IEC 62443, with HTTPS (TLS 1.2), SSHv2 and SNMPv3 plus RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication.
