Description

The Moxa NPort 5610-16-48V is a 16-port RS-232 rackmount serial device server that connects legacy serial equipment to an Ethernet network through 8-pin RJ45 serial connectors. This variant is powered from a ±48 VDC input (20 to 72 VDC or -20 to -72 VDC), making it well suited to telecommunications and DC-powered rack environments.

In a standard 19-inch chassis with a metal housing, the unit supports Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, Reverse Telnet and RFC2217 modes, with Real COM and TTY drivers for Windows, Linux and other operating systems. The LCD panel simplifies IP address setup, and HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and SNMPv3 support help secure remote management.

Features

- Standard 19-inch rackmount size
- Easy IP address configuration with the LCD panel
- Configuration via Telnet, web browser, or Windows utility
- Socket modes: TCP server, TCP client, UDP
- Real COM and TTY drivers for Windows, Linux and other operating systems
- HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and SNMPv3 security support
- Built-in watchdog timer for automatic reboot

FAQs

Q: What power input does the NPort 5610-16-48V use?
A: It runs from a DC input of ±48 VDC, with an accepted range of 20 to 72 VDC or -20 to -72 VDC, drawing 135 mA at 48 VDC. It is intended for DC-powered racks rather than AC mains.

Q: How many serial ports does it provide and what interface?
A: It provides 16 RS-232 serial ports on 8-pin RJ45 connectors, supporting TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD and GND signals.

Q: Which operating modes are supported?
A: Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server, UDP, Ethernet Modem, Pair Connection, Reverse Telnet and RFC2217 modes are supported.

Q: How is the device configured?
A: The IP address can be set from the front LCD panel, and the unit can then be configured through Telnet, a web browser or the Windows utility.

Q: Is it a standard 19-inch rackmount unit?
A: Yes. It fits a standard 19-inch rack, measuring 480 x 45.5 x 198 mm with mounting ears and 440 x 45.5 x 198 mm without them.

Q: Which operating systems have driver support?
A: Real COM and TTY drivers are available for Windows, Linux and other operating systems, so existing serial software can communicate over the network.
