Description

The NPort 5430 is a 4-port RS-422/485 serial device server that connects serial equipment to a TCP/IP network over a single 10/100 Ethernet port. Terminal block serial connectors with no isolation make it suited to indoor industrial and building automation installations where up to four serial devices need remote polling or event handling.

Each serial port runs in its own operation mode, including Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, Ethernet Modem, Pair Connection and Reverse Telnet. An LCD panel with push buttons simplifies setup, and dual DC power inputs (12 to 48 VDC) support redundant power feeds. Real COM and TTY drivers are available for Windows, Linux and macOS.

FAQs

Q: Does the NPort 5430 support RS-232?
A: No. The NPort 5430 provides four RS-422/RS-485 ports on terminal block connectors. RS-232 devices need a different NPort 5400 Series model.

Q: Do the serial ports have isolation?
A: This model has no serial isolation. The Ethernet port has 1.5 kV built-in magnetic isolation. Serial isolation is a feature of the NPort 5430I variant.

Q: Can each port be configured differently?
A: Yes. Each of the four ports has its own operation mode, such as Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, Ethernet Modem, Pair Connection or Reverse Telnet.

Q: What power input does it need?
A: It accepts 12 to 48 VDC and has two power inputs, a removable terminal block and a power jack. A CBL-PJTB-10 power cable is included in the package.

Q: What is the operating temperature range?
A: This standard model operates from 0 to 55°C. Wide-temperature models are separate variants.

Q: How can it be mounted?
A: It can sit on a desktop or be wall mounted using the included wall-mounting kit. DIN-rail mounting requires an optional kit.
