Description

The NPort 5232-T is a 2-port RS-422/485 serial device server that connects serial equipment such as PLCs, meters and sensors to an IP Ethernet network. Both serial ports use terminal block connectors, and the -T variant is rated for wide temperature operation from -40 to 75°C, making it suited to factory floors, outdoor cabinets and other harsh industrial environments.

The device server supports TCP server, TCP client and UDP socket modes, with Real COM and TTY drivers so existing serial-based software can keep working over the network. Automatic data direction control (ADDC) simplifies 2-wire and 4-wire RS-485 wiring, and a Windows utility makes it easy to configure multiple units. The metal housing supports desktop, wall or DIN-rail mounting (DIN-rail kit optional).

Q: What serial interfaces does the NPort 5232-T support?
A: It provides 2 serial ports supporting RS-422 and RS-485 (2-wire and 4-wire) with terminal block connectors. RS-232 signals and RTS/CTS or DTR/DSR flow control are not available on this model.
