Description

The Moxa NPort 5230 is a compact 2-port serial device server that connects one RS-232 port and one RS-422/485 port to a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network via terminal block connectors. It lets serial devices such as PLCs, meters, sensors and controllers be accessed over TCP/IP using Real COM or TTY drivers, or socket modes including TCP Server, TCP Client and UDP.

Built in a rugged metal housing with a wide 12 to 48 VDC power input and 0 to 55°C operating range, the NPort 5230 suits desktop, wall or DIN-rail mounting (optional kit). Automatic RS-485 data direction control, built-in 1.5 kV Ethernet magnetic isolation, and a watchdog timer, buzzer and RTC support reliable day-to-day operation in industrial and commercial serial networking deployments.
