Description

The Moxa NE-4120A is an embedded serial device server module that connects an RS-422/485 serial device to a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network. Built on the NE-4100 Series pin-header form factor with a 5-pin Ethernet header, it suits OEM and system integrators adding network connectivity to serial equipment without a redesign. This variant supports RS-422, RS-485 4-wire and RS-485 2-wire signalling and operates across the standard 0 to 55°C temperature range.

The module supports Real COM, TCP Client, TCP Server and UDP operation modes, with baudrates from 110 bps to 230.4 kbps and full flow control options. Configuration is available through a web console, Windows utility, Telnet or serial console, and SNMP and email alerts keep operators informed of device events. Four software-configurable DIO channels and built-in 1.5 kV magnetic isolation on the Ethernet port add flexibility for embedded designs.
