Description

The FortiNDR Cloud 500G is a 1U physical network detection and response sensor that captures network traffic and delivers metadata to the FortiNDR Cloud SaaS platform. This small 500G model is hardware only and provides 2x 10/25GbE SFP28, 4x 1GbE RJ45 and 2x 10GbE RJ45 interfaces, with NDR sniffer throughput of 14 Gbps (enterprise mix) for monitoring enterprise network segments.

The sensor includes 2 x 1.6TB of removable storage in a default RAID 1 configuration and supports sniffer, SPAN and 802.1q deployments. Transceivers are purchased separately, and a separate support licence is required to operate the sensor with the FortiNDR Cloud service.

Fortinet provides robust warranty coverage for its hardware and software products, with durations and terms based on product category:
• Hardware Warranty: All Fortinet hardware products come with a 1-year (365 days) limited warranty from the Warranty Start Date, covering material defects in workmanship when compared to the published Functional Specifications.
• Software Warranty: Fortinet software is warranted for 90 days from the Warranty Start Date. An exception is FortiToken, which carries a 1-year warranty.
• Limited Lifetime Warranty Products:
Some products are covered by extended terms:
o FortiAP and FortiSwitch (excluding FortiSwitch-5000 series) include a limited lifetime warranty valid for 5 years beyond the product’s announced end-of-life date.
o FortiSwitch-5000 series is covered under the standard 1-year hardware warranty.

Q: Does the FNRC-500G include a FortiNDR Cloud subscription?
A: No. This SKU is the physical sensor hardware only. A separate support licence (FC-10-NDR5G-247-02-DD) must be purchased.

A: No. Transceivers are purchased separately. The SFP28 ports accept SFP+ SR/LR modules for 10Gbps and SFP28 SR modules for 25Gbps.
