Description

The J9987A is a 24-port 10/100/1000BASE-T switch module for the Aruba 5400R zl2 modular chassis. It is a non-PoE v3 zl2 module with IEEE 802.1AE MACsec support for link-level encryption, giving campus and branch networks a dense copper access option with fixed RJ-45 ports and no transceivers required.

The module installs in the Aruba 5406R and 5412R zl2 chassis and is hot-swappable, so dissimilar modules can be added or replaced without interrupting the network. As a v3 module it enables platform features such as VSF stacking, Fast Software Upgrade, BFD, VxLAN and IP SLA for Voice, and it supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet and Auto-MDIX on every port.
