Description

The DCS-7500-SUP2 is the Supervisor-2 control-plane module for the Arista 7500R3 series modular data centre switch routers. It runs Arista EOS and handles all control plane and management functions, powered by a 1.9 GHz multi-core x86 64-bit processor with 32 GB of system memory and 4 GB of flash storage. This is the base model without an SSD; the SSD version is DCS-7500-SUP2-D.

One supervisor is required to run the system, and a second can be added for 1+1 redundancy with stateful failover between the pair. It is hot-swappable and compatible with the DCS-7512N, DCS-7508N and DCS-7504N chassis, supporting control plane scaling beyond 500 physical ports and thousands of virtual ports.
