Description

The TCF-142 Serial-to-Fiber Converter with multi-mode ST connector links RS-232/422/485 serial devices to optical fibre for reliable, interference-free serial communication over distances of up to 5 km. This -40 to 75°C wide-temperature model suits factory automation, transport, utilities and other harsh industrial sites, and supports fibre ring topologies for extended or redundant serial networks.

The converter provides 2 serial ports, baudrates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps including non-standard rates, and automatic data direction control (ADDC) for RS-485. It runs from a 12 to 48 VDC input with overload current and reverse polarity protection, and is housed in an IP30 metal enclosure designed for wall mounting.
