Description

The Moxa TCF-142-M-ST is an industrial serial-to-fiber converter that carries RS-232/422/485 serial signals over multi-mode optical fibre through an ST connector. It extends serial transmission up to 5 km at 850 nm, supports fibre ring topology, and operates across a standard 0 to 60°C temperature range.

Two serial ports support baudrates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, including non-standard rates, with automatic data direction control for RS-485. A 12 to 48 VDC terminal block power input with reverse polarity and overload current protection, plus a rugged IP30 metal housing for wall mounting, makes it suited to factory floors, control cabinets and other electrically noisy environments where fibre isolation is needed.
