Description

The TCF-142-M-SC is an industrial RS-232/422/485 to multi-mode fibre converter with an SC connector, built to extend serial links up to 5 km over 850 nm multi-mode fibre. It supports both point-to-point and fibre ring topologies, and is rated for operation from 0 to 60°C, making it a practical choice for factory floors, substations and other electrically noisy environments.

Two serial ports support RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 at baudrates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, including non-standard rates, with patented ADDC automatic data direction control for RS-485. Fibre transmission helps protect serial data from electrical interference and chemical corrosion, and fibre rings can reach a total circumference of up to 100 km. The IP30 metal housing accepts 12 to 48 VDC via a terminal block, with overload current and reverse polarity protection.
