Description

The Moxa TCF-142-M-SC-RM is a serial-to-fibre converter that carries RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 signals over multi-mode fibre with an SC connector, extending serial transmission up to 5 km. It is a slide-in module for the NRack System (TRC-190 chassis), suited to industrial automation, building control and utility sites where serial links must cross electrically noisy areas or long cable runs.

It provides 2 serial ports with automatic baudrate detection from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps, including non-standard baudrates. ADDC automatic data direction control handles RS-485 without manual configuration, and the adjustable 1K or 150K ohm pull high/low resistor lets you tune the line for your wiring. It supports both ring and point-to-point fibre topologies, and the metal IP30 housing is rated for 0 to 60 degrees Celsius operation.
