Description

The Moxa MGate MB3170I-M-SC-T is a 1-port Modbus TCP gateway that converts between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII serial devices. It adds a 100BaseFX multi-mode fibre port with SC connector for EMI-immune links of up to 4 km, 2 kV serial isolation and a -40 to 75°C operating range, making it well suited to harsh industrial and substation environments.

The gateway supports both Modbus TCP client and server modes alongside RTU/ASCII master and slave, with 32 client and 32 server connections. A software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial port, two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with Ethernet cascade for daisy-chain wiring, and a 12 to 48 VDC input make integration straightforward. Management is available through web console, MGate Manager, DSU, MCC Tool or Telnet, with HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and SNMPv3 for secure configuration.
