Description

The MGate MB3170 Modbus TCP gateway is a 1-port advanced serial-to-Ethernet gateway that converts between Modbus RTU/ASCII and Modbus TCP. This wide-temperature model combines RJ45 Ethernet with a single-mode SC fibre port and a software-selectable RS-232/422/485 DB9 serial connector, and operates from -40 to 75°C. It suits industrial automation, energy and process control deployments where serial Modbus devices need to join an Ethernet network over copper or fibre.

The gateway supports Modbus TCP Client/Server and Modbus RTU/ASCII Client/Server operation with up to 32 client and 32 server connections, plus agent mode with tag and command mapping. Two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports can be configured for Ethernet cascade or dual-subnet use, while the 100BaseFX single-mode port supports long-reach links. Built in a metal IP30 housing with a 12 to 48 VDC input and relay output, it also provides HTTPS (TLS 1.2), SNMPv3 and local authentication for secure management.
