Description

The Moxa MGate MB3170-M-ST is a 1-port Modbus gateway that converts between Modbus TCP, ASCII and RTU. It pairs a single RS-232/422/485 serial port with a 100BaseF(X) multi-mode fibre Ethernet port using an ST connector, making it well suited to industrial sites where fibre is used to avoid electrical interference. This non-isolated model is rated for operation from 0 to 60°C.

The gateway connects serial and Ethernet masters at the same time to serial Modbus devices and supports up to 32 TCP master/clients or up to 32 TCP slave/servers. Routing by IP address, TCP port number or ID mapping, plus a priority control function for urgent commands, helps keep control networks responsive. A rugged DIN-rail or panel mount design suits cabinet installations.
