Description

The MGate MB3170-M-SC-G2 is a 1-port advanced Modbus TCP gateway that connects serial Modbus RTU/ASCII devices to Ethernet networks. It pairs one 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 port with one 100BaseFX multi-mode SC fibre port, and one software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial port on a DB9 connector. The fibre Ethernet option suits plants that need electrical noise immunity, grounding separation or longer link runs, and the unit operates across -10 to 60°C.

It acts as Modbus TCP Client or Server and Modbus RTU/ASCII Client or Server, with support for up to 32 client and 32 server TCP connections. Agent mode polling with cached data helps reduce SCADA read latency, while HTTPS (TLS 1.2) and SNMPv3 support secure access and management. A web console provides built-in diagnostics and traffic monitoring, and the gateway mounts on a DIN rail and runs from 12 to 48 VDC.
