Description

The Moxa MGate MB3170-M-SC is a 1-port Modbus TCP gateway that converts between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII serial devices. This variant connects to the network over a 100BaseFX multi-mode fiber port with an SC connector, giving serial-to-Ethernet integration with the noise immunity and extended distance of fibre, and it operates across a standard 0 to 60°C temperature range.

A single software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial port lets one gateway bridge a wide range of Modbus serial equipment into an Ethernet network. Two additional 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports support Ethernet cascade for daisy-chain wiring, and built-in 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protects the Ethernet interface in industrial automation and monitoring deployments.
