Description

The MGate MB3170-G2 is a 1-port advanced Modbus gateway that converts between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII, linking serial field devices to Ethernet networks. It provides a software-selectable RS-232/422/485 DB9 serial port and two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 Ethernet ports that can be set up as an Ethernet cascade or on dual subnets. This standard temperature model operates from -10 to 60°C, is non-isolated and uses copper Ethernet.

The gateway supports up to 32 client and 32 server connections, with agent mode for advanced Modbus data handling. Security and management include HTTPS (TLS 1.2), SNMPv3 and a built-in web console. A metal IP30 housing with DIN-rail mounting, 12 to 48 VDC power input and hazardous location certifications (ATEX, Class I Division 2, IECEx) make it well suited to industrial automation cabinets.
