Description

The MGate 5435-T is a 4-port industrial protocol gateway that converts Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP client traffic to EtherNet/IP adapter, allowing serial Modbus devices to be integrated into EtherNet/IP control systems. Its four RS-232/422/485 serial ports and wide temperature rating of -40 to 75°C make it suited to factory automation, energy and process environments where conditions are harsh.

The gateway supports up to 8 EtherNet/IP scanner connections, offers dual redundant 12 to 48 VDC power inputs with a relay output, and is configured through a web console. Built-in 2 kV serial isolation, a metal IP30 housing and a microSD slot for configuration backup help with reliable deployment and easy device replacement.

Features

- Protocol conversion between Modbus and EtherNet/IP
- Supports EtherNet/IP adapter and Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP client modes
- Flexible deployment with Ethernet cascading and dual subnet
- Embedded traffic monitoring and diagnostic information for easy troubleshooting
- Web-based console configuration over HTTPS
- microSD card for configuration backup and duplication
- Dual redundant DC power inputs and 1 relay output
- 2 kV isolation protection on serial ports
- Wide -40 to 75°C operating temperature range

FAQs

Q: What protocols does the MGate 5435-T convert between?
A: It converts Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP client communication to EtherNet/IP adapter, so Modbus serial or TCP servers can be read and written by EtherNet/IP scanners such as PLCs.

Q: How many serial ports does it have and which standards are supported?
A: It has 4 DB9 male serial ports that support RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485, each with 2 kV built-in isolation. RS-485 pull-up/pull-down and terminator settings are software configurable.

Q: What is the difference between the -T model and the standard MGate 5435?
A: The -T model is rated for an operating temperature of -40 to 75°C, making it suitable for outdoor cabinets and harsh industrial environments.

Q: How many EtherNet/IP scanners can connect at once?
A: The gateway supports up to 8 EtherNet/IP scanner connections, with 496 bytes of input and 496 bytes of output data per connection.

Q: How is the gateway configured and backed up?
A: Configuration is done through the HTTPS web console or the Device Search Utility (DSU). A microSD slot of up to 32 GB can be used to back up and duplicate configurations.

Q: What power input does it use?
A: It accepts 12 to 48 VDC through a spring-type Euroblock terminal, with dual redundant power inputs and a relay output for alarm signalling.
