Description

The Moxa MGate 5216-T/KC is a 2-port serial and Modbus to EtherCAT protocol gateway that converts Modbus RTU/ASCII and proprietary serial protocols to an EtherCAT slave. This wide-temperature variant operates from -40 to 75°C and carries KC certification, making it suited to harsh industrial cabinets and KC-regulated deployments. It fits in a rugged IP30 metal DIN-rail housing with 2 kV serial isolation.

Two software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial ports on DB9 connectors connect legacy serial devices to an EtherCAT network, while two 10/100 Ethernet ports support built-in cascading for simple wiring. MicroPython 1.20.0 support allows custom handling of proprietary serial protocols, and the unit is configured through a web console or the Device Search Utility.
