Description

The Moxa MGate 5216/KC is a 2-port industrial serial/Modbus to EtherCAT gateway that converts Modbus RTU/ASCII and proprietary serial protocols to EtherCAT. This KC certified variant is rated for 0 to 60°C operation and suits factory automation and machine control networks where serial devices must join an EtherCAT network.

Two software-selectable RS-232/422/485 DB9 serial ports provide 2 kV isolation, and MicroPython support allows custom handling of proprietary serial protocols. The rugged metal DIN-rail housing, dual redundant 12 to 48 VDC power inputs and relay output make it suitable for demanding industrial cabinets, while the two 10/100 Ethernet ports support easy cascading.
