Description

The IMC-P21A-G2-M-ST is a DIN-rail PoE+ industrial media converter that converts 10/100BaseT(X) copper to 100Base-FX multi-mode fibre over an ST connector, covering distances up to 4 km at 1300 nm. It acts as power sourcing equipment, delivering up to 30 W in standard mode and up to 36 W for demanding PoE devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points directly from the RJ45 port.

Built for industrial deployments, it has a metal IP40 housing, redundant dual 44 to 57 VDC power inputs and an operating temperature range of -10 to 60°C. Link Fault Pass-through (LFPT) and PoE diagnostics help you spot and isolate faults across the fibre link, while fibre transmission provides strong immunity to electromagnetic interference.

Features

- PoE+ power sourcing: up to 30 W standard mode, up to 36 W for demanding industrial PoE devices
- PoE diagnostics for easier troubleshooting
- Link Fault Pass-through (LFPT) propagates link failures across the fibre link
- Store-and-forward and pass-through modes
- 10/100M copper port with MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing
- Redundant dual DC power inputs for improved uptime
- Wide -10 to 60°C operating temperature range
- High EMI immunity through fibre transmission

FAQs

Q: What fibre type and connector does the IMC-P21A-G2-M-ST use?
A: It has a 100Base-FX multi-mode fibre port with an ST connector, operating at 1300 nm for distances up to 4 km.

Q: Can this media converter power PoE devices?
A: Yes. The RJ45 port is IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ power sourcing equipment, delivering up to 30 W in standard mode and up to 36 W for demanding industrial PoE devices such as IP cameras and access points.

Q: What power supply does it require?
A: It needs a DC supply of 44 to 57 VDC across redundant dual power inputs. For PoE+ output a supply above 52 VDC is recommended, and for PoE output above 44 VDC.

Q: What speeds does the copper port support?
A: The RJ45 port supports 10/100BaseT(X) with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, and the fibre side runs at 100 Mbps (100Base-FX).

Q: How is it mounted and what environment is it rated for?
A: It mounts on a DIN rail in a metal IP40 housing and operates from -10 to 60°C at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity.

Q: What does Link Fault Pass-through do?
A: LFPT passes a link failure on one side of the converter through to the other, so connected equipment can detect the fault and react.
