Description

The IMC-P101-M-SC is an industrial PoE media converter that converts 10/100BaseT(X) copper Ethernet to 100BaseFX multi-mode fibre with an SC connector. Its RJ45 port acts as PoE power sourcing equipment (PSE), powering devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points over the same copper link, with a typical multi-mode reach of 4 km over OM1 50/125 µm fibre. This multi-mode SC variant is rated for 0 to 60°C operation.

Built for industrial installations, it has a metal housing with DIN-rail mounting, redundant dual DC power inputs and a power failure alarm by relay output. Newer hardware revisions support IEEE 802.3at PoE+ with up to 30 W to the powered device and a wide 12 to 57 VDC input. It is part of the IMC-P101 series.

Features

- 10/100BaseT(X) auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDI-X
- IEEE 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE+ compliance (PoE+ on HW Rev. 1.1.0 and later)
- PoE PSE function removes the need for separate power wiring to the powered device
- Power failure alarm by relay output
- Supports store-and-forward mode and pass-through mode
- Redundant dual DC power inputs
- Metal housing with DIN-rail mounting for industrial use

FAQs

Q: What does the IMC-P101-M-SC connect?
A: It converts a 10/100BaseT(X) copper Ethernet link to a 100BaseFX multi-mode fibre link with an SC connector, extending a PoE device up to a typical 4 km over OM1 50/125 µm fibre.

Q: Can it power connected devices?
A: Yes. The RJ45 port acts as PoE PSE. It supports IEEE 802.3af, and 802.3at PoE+ with up to 30 W on hardware revisions 1.1.0 and later.

Q: What fibre type does it need?
A: It uses multi-mode fibre with SC connectors. The typical reach of 4 km is based on OM1 50/125 µm fibre at 1300 nm.

Q: What power input does it accept?
A: Hardware revisions 1.1.0 and later accept 12 to 57 VDC, while earlier revisions (1.0.1 and prior) require 46 to 57 VDC. It has redundant dual DC inputs and a relay output for power failure alarms.

Q: How is it mounted and what is the operating temperature?
A: It has a metal housing with DIN-rail mounting and is rated for 0 to 60°C operation.

Q: How does it differ from other IMC-P101 models?
A: This model is the multi-mode SC version rated for 0 to 60°C. Other IMC-P101 variants differ in fibre type, connector or temperature range.
