Description

The IMC-21-S-SC is an industrial media converter that bridges 10/100BaseT(X) copper Ethernet to 100BaseFX single-mode fibre over an SC connector, with a typical reach of 40 km on G.652 fibre. It suits long-run links in factory, utility and transport networks where copper cannot cover the distance or electrical noise is a concern.

Built for the plant floor, it accepts 12 to 48 VDC input, mounts on a DIN rail and operates from -10 to 60 C in an IP30 plastic housing. Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) and DIP switch settings for speed and duplex make it simple to deploy and troubleshoot in the field.

Features

- Converts copper 10/100BaseT(X) to 100BaseFX single-mode fibre
- Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) for faster fault detection
- DIP switches to select FDX/HDX, 10/100 and auto or forced mode
- Wide 12 to 48 VDC power input
- Easy DIN-rail or distribution box mounting
- Rugged design for harsh industrial environments

FAQs

Q: What fibre type and distance does the IMC-21-S-SC support?
A: It uses single-mode G.652 fibre with an SC connector and a typical distance of 40 km at 1310 nm.

Q: What power input does it require?
A: It accepts 12 to 48 VDC, with a consumption of 300 mA at 12 VDC and overload current protection.

Q: What is Link Fault Pass-Through?
A: LFPT passes a link failure on one side of the converter through to the other, so connected devices can detect the fault quickly.

Q: How do I mount it?
A: It mounts on a DIN rail or in a distribution box and measures 25 x 109 x 97 mm.

Q: What temperature range can it operate in?
A: The operating range is -10 to 60 C, with storage rated from -40 to 70 C.

Q: How does it differ from other IMC-21 models?
A: The IMC-21 family offers multi-mode and single-mode versions with SC or ST connectors. This SKU is the single-mode, SC connector model with 40 km reach.
