Description

The Moxa IMC-21-M-SC is an industrial 10/100BaseT(X) to 100BaseFX media converter with a multi-mode SC fibre connector, operating across a -10 to 60°C temperature range. It links copper Ethernet devices to a multi-mode fibre run of up to 4 km, making it a cost-effective way to extend industrial networks across plant floors, substations and other harsh environments.

It runs from a 12 to 48 VDC power input with overload current protection and 1.5 kV built-in magnetic isolation on the copper port. The compact plastic IP30 housing mounts on a DIN rail, and DIP switches let installers set duplex, speed and auto-negotiation behaviour without software, while Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) helps upstream equipment detect a broken link.

Features

- Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) for fast detection of fibre or copper link failures
- DIP switches to select full/half duplex, 10/100 Mbps, auto-negotiation or forced mode
- Cost-effective solution for harsh industrial environments
- Wide 12 to 48 VDC power input with overload current protection
- 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protects the copper port
- Compact DIN-rail mountable IP30 housing

FAQs

Q: What fibre type does the IMC-21-M-SC support?
A: It uses a multi-mode SC connector with OM1 50/125 µm fibre at a typical wavelength of 1300 nm, for runs of up to 4 km.

Q: What power supply does the IMC-21-M-SC require?
A: It accepts a 12 to 48 VDC input and draws a maximum of 0.271 A. Overload current protection is supported.

Q: What is the operating temperature range of this model?
A: The IMC-21-M-SC is rated for -10 to 60°C, suitable for standard industrial cabinet installations.

Q: How is the IMC-21-M-SC mounted?
A: It mounts on a standard DIN rail, and the compact 25 x 109 x 97 mm housing fits easily into control cabinets.

Q: Can I configure speed and duplex settings on this converter?
A: Yes. DIP switches let you select full or half duplex, 10 or 100 Mbps, auto-negotiation or forced mode, with no software needed.

Q: What does Link Fault Pass-Through do?
A: LFPT passes a link failure on one side to the other, so connected switches or controllers can detect the fault and respond quickly.
