Description

The ICF-1171I-S-ST is an industrial CAN-to-fiber converter that links two CAN 2.0 or CAN FD networks over single-mode fibre with an ST connector. Installed in pairs, it extends CAN bus distance up to 40 km, and this SKU is the single-mode ST version with an operating temperature range of 0 to 60°C. Built-in 2 kV CAN isolation and dual redundant power inputs make it well suited to factory automation, rail, mining and utility installations where electrical noise and long cable runs are a concern.

The converter supports CAN 2.0A, CAN 2.0B and CAN FD in line with ISO 11898, with arbitration rates up to 1 Mbps and a CAN FD data rate up to 5 Mbps. A DIP switch enables the 120-ohm terminator and rotary switches set the arbitration and data rates, while LEDs show CAN bus, fibre and power input status. The metal IP30 housing mounts on a DIN rail, with wall mounting available using an optional kit.
