Description

The Moxa ICF-1150I-S-ST is an industrial serial-to-fiber converter that links RS-232 and RS-422/485 serial signals to a single-mode fibre port with an ST connector. It extends serial transmission up to 40 km over single-mode fibre and provides 2 kV isolation, making it well suited to noisy industrial sites, long cable runs and installations that need protection from ground loops and electrical interference.

Three independent ports (a DB9 for RS-232, a removable terminal block for RS-422/485 and the fibre port) give flexible 3-way communication. A 12 to 48 VDC power input, overload current protection and a 0 to 60°C operating range suit control rooms, cabinets and factory floor deployments.

Features

- 3-way communication across RS-232, RS-422/485 and fibre
- Rotary switch to change the pull high/low resistor value
- Extends serial transmission up to 40 km over single-mode fibre
- Two serial ports and one fibre port operate completely independently
- 2 kV isolation protects equipment from electrical interference and ground loops
- Series is C1D2, ATEX and IECEx certified for harsh industrial environments

FAQs

Q: What serial interfaces does the ICF-1150I-S-ST support?
A: It supports RS-232 through a DB9 port and RS-422/485 through a removable terminal block, with baudrates from 50 bps to 921.6 kbps.

Q: How far can this converter transmit over fibre?
A: Up to 40 km over single-mode fibre using the ST connector.

Q: What does the I in the model name mean?
A: The I denotes the 2 kV isolation model, which protects connected equipment from electrical interference and ground loops.

Q: What power input does it require?
A: It runs from a 12 to 48 VDC input and includes overload current protection.

Q: Can I use multi-mode fibre with this model?
A: No. This model is built for single-mode fibre with an ST connector. Multi-mode versions exist elsewhere in the ICF-1150 series.

Q: What is the operating temperature range?
A: This standard-temperature model operates from 0 to 60°C.
