Description

The Fortinet FortiGate 1100E (FG-1100E) is a 2RU next-generation firewall built for large enterprises and service providers. It combines 2x 40GE QSFP+ and 4x 25GE SFP28 interfaces with NP6 and CP9 hardware acceleration, delivering 9.8 Gbps NGFW throughput, 12.5 Gbps IPS throughput and 48 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput. This AC-powered model has no onboard storage, which distinguishes it from the FG-1101E that adds 2x 480GB SSD.

The FG-1100E runs FortiOS and forms part of the Fortinet Security Fabric, with redundant hot-swappable AC power supplies and Active-Active, Active-Passive and clustering high availability. Its mix of 40GE, 25GE, 10GE, GE SFP and GE RJ45 ports suits data centre edge, campus core and high-density perimeter deployments without extra bridging devices.
