Description

The Moxa EDS-2018-ML-2GTXSFP is an 18-port industrial unmanaged Ethernet switch from the EDS-2000-ML range, with 16 x 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports and 2 x Gigabit combo 10/100/1000BaseT(X) or 100/1000BaseSFP uplink ports. This standard temperature model operates from -10 to 60°C and suits factory floors, control cabinets and other industrial networks needing simple plug-and-play connectivity with flexible copper or fibre aggregation.

Built in an IP30 metal housing for DIN-rail mounting, it accepts redundant dual 12/24/48 VDC power inputs and provides a relay alarm output for power failure and port break warnings. DIP switch settings enable QoS and broadcast storm protection without any software configuration.

Features

- Two Gigabit uplinks with flexible copper/SFP combo interface for high-bandwidth data aggregation
- QoS support to process critical data in heavy traffic
- Relay output warning for power failure and port break alarm
- IP30-rated metal housing
- Redundant dual 12/24/48 VDC power inputs
- Broadcast storm protection and port break alarm via DIP switches
- 100% burn-in tested

FAQs

Q: Is the Moxa EDS-2018-ML-2GTXSFP a managed switch?
A: No. It is an unmanaged switch configured through DIP switches, which enable QoS, broadcast storm protection and port break alarm without any software setup.

Q: What are the two Gigabit combo ports?
A: Each combo port can run as either a 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 copper connection or a 100/1000BaseSFP fibre connection, so you can choose copper or SFP uplinks to suit the installation.

Q: What operating temperature range does this model support?
A: This standard temperature model operates from -10 to 60°C. It is not the wide temperature variant.

Q: How is the switch powered?
A: It has redundant dual 12/24/48 VDC power inputs on a removable 6-contact terminal block, with an operating range of 9.6 to 60 VDC. Overload current and reverse polarity protection are supported.

Q: How do I mount the switch?
A: It is designed for DIN-rail mounting. Wall mounting is also possible with an optional mounting kit.

Q: Can the switch alert me to a fault?
A: Yes. A relay output (1 A @ 24 VDC) signals power failure and port break alarms, which can be tied into a monitoring or alarm system.
