Description

The Juniper SFP+ 10GBASE-ZR CWDM transceiver operates on the 1491 nm CWDM channel over single-mode fibre, supporting 10 Gbps links up to 70 km with a duplex LC connector. It suits metro and campus backbone links where extra capacity is needed on existing fibre without lighting new strands.

This standard temperature module (0 to 70 C) uses the hot-pluggable SFP+ form factor and is designed for Juniper Networks switches and routers with SFP+ ports. Its fixed CWDM wavelength lets it be combined with other CWDM channels through passive multiplexers to scale bandwidth across a single fibre pair.

Features

- Hot-pluggable SFP+ footprint for 10G CWDM links
- CWDM 1491 nm channel for adding capacity on existing fibre
- Long-reach 70 km single-mode operation
- Standard temperature range (0 to 70 C)
- Duplex LC connector
- Designed for Juniper Networks devices

Warranty

Juniper products are supplied with standard manufacturer warranty terms, which vary by product and can range from 1 year through to limited lifetime coverage. IP Trading can also provide Juniper J-Care warranty and support extensions for customers who need longer coverage or enhanced support options. https://support.juniper.net/support/warranty/

FAQs

Q: What reach does this transceiver support?
A: It is designed for 10 Gbps links up to 70 km over single-mode fibre on the 1491 nm CWDM channel.

Q: Which connector and fibre type does it use?
A: It uses a duplex LC connector and requires single-mode fibre (SMF).

Q: What temperature range is it rated for?
A: This is the standard temperature version, rated for operation from 0 to 70 C.

Q: Is this module suitable for CWDM multiplexing?
A: Yes. It transmits on the fixed 1491 nm CWDM wavelength, so it can be combined with other CWDM channels through passive CWDM multiplexers to carry multiple 10G links over one fibre pair.

Q: Is it hot-pluggable?
A: Yes. It is a hot-pluggable SFP+ module and can be installed or removed while the host device is powered on.

Q: Do both ends of the link need the same wavelength?
A: For CWDM, each link end must use matching channel optics suited to the multiplexer port plan. Match the 1491 nm module to the corresponding 1491 nm port on your CWDM mux/demux.
