Description

The Juniper SFP-GE80KT14R15 is a 1 Gigabit Ethernet bidirectional (BiDi) SFP transceiver for long-haul links of up to 80 km over a single strand of single-mode fibre. It transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1570 nm, and is rated for the standard 0 to 70 C temperature range, making it well suited to carrier, metro and campus backbone links where fibre pairs are limited.

BiDi optics halve the fibre requirement by sending and receiving on different wavelengths over one strand. This unit must be deployed with the opposite-wavelength SFP-GE80KT15R14 (Tx 1570 nm / Rx 1490 nm) at the far end to complete the link. It is a Juniper-proprietary optic, listed under Juniper part number 740-088384.
