Description

The Juniper SFP-GE40KT14R13 is a 1000BASE-BX bidirectional SFP transceiver that carries Gigabit Ethernet over a single strand of single-mode fibre, reaching up to 40 km. It transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1310 nm through a simplex LC connector, and is rated for standard temperature operation from 0 to 70 C.

Because it uses a single fibre for both directions, it helps conserve fibre in long-haul and campus links. It must be paired with the opposite-wavelength unit (Tx 1310 nm / Rx 1490 nm, SFP-GE40KT13R14) at the far end of the link. The hot-pluggable SFP form factor allows installation in compatible Juniper SFP ports without powering down the host device.

Features

- Single-fibre bidirectional operation (BiDi)
- Hot-pluggable SFP form factor
- Pairs with the opposite-wavelength unit (Tx 1310 nm / Rx 1490 nm, SFP-GE40KT13R14)

Warranty

Juniper products are supplied with standard manufacturer warranty terms, which vary by product and can range from 1 year through to limited lifetime coverage. IP Trading can also provide Juniper J-Care warranty and support extensions for customers who need longer coverage or enhanced support options. https://support.juniper.net/support/warranty/

FAQs

Q: What fibre type does the SFP-GE40KT14R13 use?
A: It operates over single-mode fibre (SMF) through a simplex LC connector, using one fibre strand for both transmit and receive.

Q: What is the maximum reach of this transceiver?
A: It supports links of up to 40 km over single-mode fibre.

Q: What do I need at the other end of the link?
A: BiDi optics must be installed in matched pairs. The far end needs the opposite-wavelength unit, Tx 1310 nm / Rx 1490 nm, which is the SFP-GE40KT13R14.

Q: What wavelengths does it use?
A: This unit transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1310 nm.

Q: What temperature range is it rated for?
A: It is a standard temperature module rated for operation from 0 to 70 C.

Q: Is it hot-pluggable?
A: Yes, it uses the hot-pluggable SFP form factor, so it can be inserted into or removed from a compatible SFP port while the host device is running.
