Description

This 1000BASE-BX bidirectional Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceiver carries 1GbE over a single strand of single-mode fibre. It transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1490 nm, reaching up to 40 km, which suits long-haul links between buildings, campuses or metro sites where fibre pairs are limited.

It uses a Simplex LC connector and is rated for standard temperature operation (0 to 70 C). Because it is a bidirectional optic, it must be paired with a matching transceiver at the far end that transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1310 nm.

Features

- Bidirectional operation over a single strand of single-mode fibre
- Up to 40 km reach for long-distance Gigabit Ethernet links
- Simplex LC connector for single-strand fibre cabling
- Standard temperature rating of 0 to 70 C

Warranty

Juniper products are supplied with standard manufacturer warranty terms, which vary by product and can range from 1 year through to limited lifetime coverage. IP Trading can also provide Juniper J-Care warranty and support extensions for customers who need longer coverage or enhanced support options. https://support.juniper.net/support/warranty/

FAQs

Q: What wavelengths does this SFP use?
A: It transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1490 nm over single-mode fibre.

Q: What is the maximum reach?
A: It supports links of up to 40 km over single-mode fibre.

Q: Does it need a matching transceiver at the other end?
A: Yes. As a bidirectional optic, it must be paired with a transceiver at the far end that transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1310 nm.

Q: What fibre and connector does it use?
A: It uses single-mode fibre with a Simplex LC connector, so only a single fibre strand is required.

Q: What temperature range is it rated for?
A: It is a standard temperature optic, rated for operation from 0 to 70 C.
