Description

The Juniper SFP-GE-TDM-T1 is a Gigabit Ethernet T1 smart SFP transceiver with an RJ-45 interface for 100 Ohm twisted pair cabling. It uses Transparent PDH over Packet (TPoP) to encapsulate T1 traffic into Ethernet frames, so legacy T1 circuits can be carried across packet-switched networks. The 655 ft reach and industrial temperature rating (-40 to 85 degrees C) suit utility, transport and remote site deployments.

This smart optic supports SAToP encapsulation with MEF8 framing, MPLS framing, and single or dual VLAN tagging. Smart SFPs are deployed in pairs, with the far-end device rebuilding the original TDM stream. It is listed as supported on Juniper MX Series MICs and on ACX7024 and ACX7024X platforms.
