Description

The Juniper SFP-GE-TDM-DS3 is a VCoP Smart SFP transceiver that carries DS3 TDM traffic over 75 Ohm coaxial cable across packet-switched networks. It supports reach of up to 450 ft (about 137 m) unframed, uses a mini-coax (DIN 1.0/2.3) connector and is rated for industrial temperatures from -40 to +85 C, making it suited to harsh or outdoor cabinet deployments.

The module encapsulates DS3 into Ethernet frames as VCoP using MEF8 framing by default, with MPLS framing optional, and supports single and dual VLAN tagging. It is deployed in pairs, with a second Smart SFP re-assembling the original bit stream at the far end, and is supported on Juniper platforms such as MX-series MICs and ACX7348 routers.
