A: In a dual-rate Fast/Gigabit Ethernet port, the transceiver will negotiate and operate at 100 Mbps, not 1 Gbps. The GLC-FE-100EX-BCC is a 100BASE-EX device and does not support Gigabit signalling. If the port requires Gigabit operation, this transceiver will not meet that requirement. Use it only where 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet connectivity is acceptable.
