Description

The Fortinet FG-80F-DSL is a desktop next-generation firewall from the FortiGate 80F range with an embedded DSL module, built for small offices and branch sites that need secure WAN connectivity over DSL without a separate modem. It provides 8 x GE RJ45 ports for LAN connectivity and 2 x RJ45/SFP shared media WAN ports for flexible copper or fibre uplinks.

The embedded DSL module simplifies branch deployments by consolidating firewall and DSL termination into a single appliance, reducing hardware, cabling and rack or desk space. The FG-80F-DSL is suited to organisations standardising on the Fortinet Security Fabric across distributed locations.

Features

- Embedded DSL module for direct DSL WAN connectivity
- Flexible WAN options with shared RJ45/SFP media ports
- Next-generation firewall platform from the FortiGate 80F series
- Suited to small office and branch deployments

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the FG-80F-DSL and a standard FortiGate 80F?
A: The FG-80F-DSL includes an embedded DSL module for WAN connectivity, so it can terminate a DSL service directly without a separate modem.

Q: What WAN options does the FG-80F-DSL provide?
A: It offers 2 x RJ45/SFP shared media WAN ports, allowing either copper or fibre uplinks, plus the embedded DSL module.

Q: How many LAN ports does the FG-80F-DSL have?
A: It provides 8 x GE RJ45 ports for wired network connectivity.

Q: Who is the FG-80F-DSL suited to?
A: It is aimed at small offices and branch sites that want firewall security and DSL connectivity consolidated in one desktop appliance.

Q: Are the RJ45/SFP ports usable at the same time?
A: No. The 2 x RJ45/SFP ports are shared media, so each port operates as either RJ45 or SFP, not both at once.
