A: The link will not establish. 850nm VCSEL lasers used in 1000BASE-SX transceivers have a modal bandwidth and core size optimised for multi-mode fibre (50µm or 62.5µm). Single-mode fibre requires a 1310nm or 1550nm laser source, such as the FN-TRAN-LX or FN-TRAN-EX.
