Description

The Aruba 7210 Mobility Controller is a 1U rack-mount ArubaOS controller for large campus and high-density WLAN deployments. It provides 4x 10G SFP+ ports and 2x dual-personality ports (10/100/1000BASE-T or SFP), manages up to 512 APs and supports up to 16,384 concurrent users and devices. This JW743A model is the Rest of World (RW) regulatory domain variant with a 350W AC power supply.

Stateful firewall policy enforcement per user and per device delivers 20 Gbps of firewall throughput and 7 Gbps of encrypted throughput. The controller supports Dynamic Segmentation for unified wired and wireless access policies, clustering with in-service software upgrades for high availability, and Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 and WPA3 access points. SFP and SFP+ transceivers are not included.

FAQs

Q: How many access points can the Aruba 7210 controller manage?
A: The 7210 supports up to 512 campus or remote AP licenses and up to 16,384 concurrent users and devices.

Q: Are SFP+ transceivers included with the JW743A?
A: No. The controller ships with a 350W AC power supply but no SFP or SFP+ transceivers, so optics must be ordered separately.

Q: What are the dual-personality ports?
A: The 2 dual-personality ports can operate as either 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports or 1000BASE-X SFP ports, depending on your cabling.

Q: Can the 4 SFP+ ports run at 1G?
A: Yes. The 4 x 10GBase-X SFP+ ports support both 10G and 1G operation.

Q: What does the RW designation mean?
A: RW means this unit is the Rest of World regulatory domain variant of the 7210 controller.

Q: Does the 7210 support high availability?
A: Yes. It supports controller clustering with in-service software upgrades to keep the wireless network available during maintenance.
