Description

The Arista SFP-10G-ERLBD-D is a 10GBASE-ERLBD bidirectional SFP+ transceiver for the downlink side of a 10G BiDi link, carrying 10GbE up to 30km over a single strand of single-mode fibre with a simplex LC connector. It suits long-reach campus, metro and data centre interconnects where fibre strands are limited, as bidirectional operation halves fibre usage compared with duplex optics.

This downlink module transmits at 1330 nm and receives at 1270 nm, so it must be paired with an SFP-10G-ERLBD-U uplink module at the far end of the link. The hot-pluggable SFP+ form factor installs into compatible Arista switch ports without powering down the system.

Q: What is the difference between the SFP-10G-ERLBD-D and the SFP-10G-ERLBD-U?
