Description

The Arista QSFP-40G-UNIV is a 40GBASE-UNIV QSFP+ universal transceiver with a duplex LC connector, designed for 40G links over either multi-mode or single-mode fibre. It reaches up to 150m over duplex OM3/OM4 multi-mode fibre or up to 500m over duplex G.652 single-mode fibre, so one optic covers short in-row runs and longer data centre spans.

Because it uses duplex LC, existing duplex fibre cabling can be reused instead of moving to parallel MPO cabling. It operates on wavelengths of 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm with a maximum power draw of 3.5 W, and forms part of Arista's 40G QSFP+ optics portfolio for QSFP+ ports on Arista platforms.
