Description

The QSFP-40G-SR4 is a 40GBASE-SR4 QSFP+ optical transceiver for running 40 Gigabit Ethernet over parallel multimode fibre. It operates at 850nm with an MPO-12 UPC connector, reaching up to 100m on OM3 and 150m on OM4 multimode fibre, which suits short-reach links between top-of-rack switches, aggregation layers and servers inside the data centre.

This module belongs to Arista's 40 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ optics range. It uses four parallel fibre lanes at 10G each, so it needs MPO-12 parallel multimode cabling with 50 um OM3 or OM4 fibre on both ends of the link.
