The Arista 800G Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO) OSFP transceiver delivers dual 400GBASE-DR4 connections — 800Gbps aggregate — over parallel single-mode fibre at distances up to 500m. Unlike traditional DSP-based modules, the LPO architecture eliminates the retimer entirely, resulting in significantly lower latency, reduced power draw (9W), and a lower cost per bit. Purpose-built for AI data centre and high-performance computing fabrics, this OSFP module supports native 800G to 2x 400G connectivity as well as 4x 200G breakout services via a 1:2 fibre splitter cable — all without additional breakout cabling complexity.
