Description

The UniFi SuperLink Motion Sensor 3-Pack delivers battery-powered dual PIR motion detection for UniFi Protect deployments, combining horizontal (1.5 m) and vertical (6 m with pet immunity) detection zones in a compact polycarbonate enclosure. Communicating via Ubiquiti's proprietary SuperLink sub-GHz wireless at up to 2 km line-of-sight range, each sensor is suited to both wall and corner installation using adhesive or screw mounts — making it ideal for retail, office, and light commercial security applications.

Each sensor runs on a single CR123A lithium battery for up to 6 years, minimising maintenance overhead across larger deployments. A built-in tamper switch alerts on unauthorised access, while native integration with UniFi Protect enables centralised management, rule-based automation, and real-time push notifications via Alarm Manager. NDAA compliant and compatible with government and regulated environments. Note: a SuperLink Gateway is required for network connectivity. Get it now at iptrading.com.au — authentic hardware, reliable service.

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the horizontal and vertical PIR sensors on the USL-Motion?
A: The horizontal PIR sensor detects motion within a 1.5 m range and is suited to detecting movement across a room or corridor. The vertical PIR sensor has a longer 6 m detection range and includes pet immunity, reducing false triggers caused by small animals. Together, the two zones provide comprehensive, layered coverage for most commercial environments.

Q: Does the USL-Motion require any cabling or PoE?
A: No. The USL-Motion is entirely battery-powered using a CR123A lithium cell with an expected life of up to 6 years per unit. It communicates wirelessly via Ubiquiti's SuperLink sub-GHz protocol, so no data or power cabling is required at the sensor location.

Q: What other hardware is needed to use the USL-Motion sensors?
A: Each USL-Motion sensor requires a compatible SuperLink Gateway to connect to your UniFi Protect network. Without a gateway, the sensors cannot communicate with the UniFi application. The gateway is sold separately.

Q: Is the USL-Motion compatible with UniFi Protect and how is it managed?
A: Yes. The USL-Motion integrates natively with UniFi Protect, which provides centralised management via web browser, iOS, and Android. From within Protect's Alarm Manager you can configure rule-based automation, receive real-time push notifications, and monitor sensor status and signal health.

Q: Is the USL-Motion suitable for government or regulated-industry deployments in Australia?
A: Yes. The USL-Motion carries NDAA compliance certification, making it appropriate for government, defence-adjacent, and regulated environments where supply chain requirements apply. It also holds FCC, IC, and CE certifications.

Q: Can I purchase the USL-Motion-3-US in Australia through IP Trading?
A: Yes. IP Trading (iptrading.com.au) is an Australian B2B IT hardware reseller stocking authentic Ubiquiti UniFi products. The USL-Motion-3-US 3-pack is available for business purchase with reliable local service and support. Get it now at iptrading.com.au.
