Description

The FortiExtender WAN 50G (FEW-50G-EA) is an indoor desktop or wall-mount 5G/LTE wireless WAN gateway that extends high-speed cellular broadband to a FortiGate. This EA region model is built for EMEA, APAC and LATAM carriers, with an internal 5G modem delivering up to 7 Gbps downlink and 2.5 Gbps uplink in 5G Sub-6 SA mode, dual physical SIM plus eSIM, and 8 internal 5G/LTE antennas.

Two 5GE/2.5GE/1GE RJ45 LAN/WAN ports, a console port and a USB 3.0 Type-A port cover wired connectivity and out-of-band management. It can be powered by 802.3at PoE on LAN2 or the included 12V/3A adapter, so it can be placed up to 100 m from the FortiGate where signal is strongest. Once connected it appears as a standard network interface in FortiOS, making it well suited to branch WAN failover, primary 5G connectivity and rapid site rollouts.

Features

- Plug-and-play: appears as a regular network interface in FortiOS once connected to a FortiGate
- PoE-powered flexible deployment up to 100 m from the FortiGate or switch for optimal 5G/LTE signal
- Dual-SIM and eSIM with active/passive failover based on data plan, disconnects, signal strength and link health
- VRRP support adds hardware redundancy alongside a single FortiGate
- Out-of-band management via console or USB port
- L2 tunnel mode via VLAN or CAPWAP
- Single pane of glass management via FortiGate and FortiManager
- Private IP SIM support
